Key Programs and Services

The Wheat Marketing Center (WMC) exists on the technical crossroads of the international wheat industry, providing technical training and grower workshops, innovative research, product development, and crop quality testing services. WMC focuses on promoting U.S. wheat by demonstrating its quality and functionality in Asian noodles, crackers and biscuits, tortillas and flatbread, and other baked products. Pilot scale production lines (pictured above), state-of-the-art quality testing equipment, and rich technical expertise provide great value to our state wheat commission partners, wheat industry stakeholders, and millers and food manufacturers around the world.

This Week: August 18-22

Early this week, Mitsui Trading brings a team from NIPPN for a tour of WMC and updates on this year’s crop. Also, U.S. Wheat Associates partners with WMC for the Korean Contracting for Wheat Value Workshop in Portland providing hands-on product testing and end-product evaluations and comparisons between U.S. wheat versus competitor wheat classes, illustrating the relationship between wheat quality specifications and end product outcomes. WMC publishes its third weekly PNW crop quality data report from the 2025 harvest, while working on sample testing for the week 4 report.  Click here to access the Week 3 CQ Report.
